Endless Energy in partnership with an electricity retailer have created a unique solar installation system and process to allow Calder Stewart to roll out solar systems at scale without being hindered by PPA or lease agreements

Each system is engineered, optimised, and actively managed to deliver long-term value and enhance the performance of their renewable energy assets.

This 60kW installation marks the second solar system Endless Energy has designed, procured, and constructed for Calder Stewart, as part of a broader nationwide rollout strategy. The initiative aims to position Calder Stewart as a leader in harnessing value from New Zealand’s evolving electricity market.

1.5 MW of rooftop solar installations are planned nationwide for Calder Stewart in 2025.

One of the first sites for this nationwide rollout is Comfortech, based in Hornby, Christchurch. This installation features 144 Trina 430W bifacial panels (totalling 61.9kW) and a 50kW Deye Hybrid Inverter—battery-ready and compatible with multiple storage brands, ensuring the system is future-proof.

The system features tilted bifacial panels set at a 9° pitch, allowing them to capture sunlight on both the front and rear surfaces. This design increases energy yield by up to 20% compared to traditional monofacial panels mounted flat to the roof.

The system is expected to generate 83,892 kWh annually, with an estimated payback period of 9 years and 11 months, and an internal rate of return (IRR) of 11.4%.
